Elton John’s private jet is allowed to land in Sydney past flight curfew – as he performs his last-ever Australian concert
Sir Elton John’s private jet was granted a special exemption to land at Sydney Airport past the flight curfew of 11pm.
The legendary singer, 75, touched down in Sydney in his private plane at 12:44am on Sunday – an hour-and-a-half past the cut-off time for incoming aircraft.
Elton’s Bombardier Global Express jet was included on a ‘list of exempt aircraft’ allowed to operate outside Sydney Airport’s curfew hours.

An aviation source told The Daily Telegraph: ‘This person has been known to arrive after the curfew with other flights.’
The Rocket Man hitmaker was snapped disembarking the plane in an eye-popping purple jumpsuit, with his entourage following behind him.
The federal Department of Infrastructure said the travel exemption was not granted specifically to Elton but rather to his jet type over ‘traffic constraints’.
