“Bling Empire” is the first American reality TV series featuring a main cast purely of Asian and Southeast Asian descent. The popular series first premiered on Netflix on January 15, 2021, and chronicled the lives of wildly wealthy Asian and Asian-American going about their insanely expensive lifestyle in Los Angeles. Described as “crazy rich Asians,” the series cast has lit up Los Angeles over the last three seasons with their glam, partying, and money-fueled drama. Following the success of the flagship series — in October 2022, Netflix announced a new spin-off, Bling Empire: New York, — set in the Big Apple. The spin-off will premiere on Friday, January 20, 2023.

The trailer of the show, released last month, teased fans to “prepare” for anything to happen. The promo clip also gave fans a glimpse of the opulence lying in wait for them to see. Notably, amongst all the chaotic display of wealth, private jets, and high fashion was a familiar face from the flagship series — Dorothy Wang. Dorothy is joined by a boisterous group of rich and sophisticated Asian-Americans, including It-girl Tina Leung. The show will introduce fans to the billionaires and power brokers that make New York so lit.
