Working onboard a private jet can be a dream for some, but what skills are actually needed? A flight attendant on a private jet has to be a jack of all trades. Work starts before boarding the flight and continues after the flight. Mostly, you work solo unless it is a larger aircraft type, so there is always a lot to do.
The inflight service is what the guests will remember and especially their meals. Flight time is very important in order to plan meals effectively. Any special requests and the passenger profile need to be taken into consideration. The flight attendant can then write a menu for the flight well suited to the passengers.
Catering specialist
Once the menu is complete, they need to order the catering, and it is very specific. Every quantity and description needs to be provided so that the caterer knows exactly what is wanted. For example, if a flight attendant needs lemon for drink garnish, they need to ask for one sliced lemon, and when ordering ice, they need to state the exact weight. If ordering bread, you can’t simply say “ten bread rolls” – you need to state the size, what kind of bread, if they have seeds or not, and what kind of bag they should come in. Also, catering is very expensive, so there should not be any mistakes or excessive ordering.
